| Update - 02/23/08: This S-10 conversion was begun as a part-time project in Nov. 2007. As of 2/23/08, the ADC motor, direct drive coupler, trans adapter plate, and transmission have been fit up and test run at 12V, and are installed in the vehicle. The original truck rear frame supports have been replaced with new battery box supports, battery boxes have been constructed and frames painted, and (18) Trojan T-875 batteries have been purchased and delivered. We are now preparing to cable up the battery pack and begin installing the controller, contactors, etc. We're hoping to time our first on-road test with the disappearance of snow and return to warm weather in NW Illinois. Update 04/17/08. Took the vehicle on it's maiden voyage on April 12th. 5 miles on the initial run. Truck runs great and shifts easily. Will spend the next few weeks slowly increasing the trip mileage and training/charging batteries. Will also do some wiring documentation and "tidying-up" with wire loom. Longest trip to date has been 15 mi. | |||||||||
