Vehicle2008 Subaru Forester Sport
Subarus are ubiquitous in the Rocky Mountain states, favored for their robust and reliable AWD systems. Despite being driven by 9 out of 10 outdoorsy "green-minded" people here in Montana, at an average of 16-22 mpg, the Subie is far from being eco-friendly. So we conceived the SubiEVee as a proof-of-concept "Ski-EV" prototype for all-season applications: hotels, ski resorts and the National Park Service. It charges from the 3Kw solar array mounted on the roof of our house to make it a true zero-emission vehicle.
