John "Plasma Boy" Wayland was going to come to our part of California (S.F. Bay area) with a delivery of Optima "blems", and he made the mistake of telling the whole EVDL where to meet him! We drew the usual discussion list "attendees", including one fellow who wanted to build an EV that could travel 150mi at 65mph on LA batteries (John described the Red Beastie and all it's faults to bring him back to reality). The kid on the Zappy is my son Aaron, and he never did wear down the batteries in the scooter, despite continuous circling of the parking lot.
