Curtis Controller bought surplus, couldn't get working so I built my own control PCB that is much smaller and uses pulse-by-pulse current regulation that is proportional to throttle input. Control PCB fits right where stock PCB was (with plenty of room to spare). This gives a smooth torque output even when you put the pedal to the floor. Also built battery tray to fit where gas tank was. No modifications to VW Bug, only holes were drilled in sheet metal.
