Vehicle | 1975 Porsche 914 |
Motor | Advanced DC FB4001 9 Series Wound DC |
Drivetrain | ADC 9" stock trans |
Controller | Curtis 1231C |
Batteries | 42 Thunder Sky 160AH, 3.20 Volt, Lithium-Ion Lithium Iron Phosphate, AKA LiFe, Nano Phosphate |
System Voltage | 134 Volts |
Charger | Russco 1800 Might be inadequate, I am only getting 8 amps at 152 volts since this is at the top of its voltage range, so it will take a while. I will upgrade to the 3000W one. Nice charger in all other ways, though. Note: the 300w charger puts about 11.5 amps into the batts at 145v, works fine, would be better with the optional booster but since the trip to work is only using about 80AH, it's fine. Russ at Russco whipped up a LiFe specific charger with a latching shutoff, very cool! |
Heater | none at this time, but dual hair dryers are in the works. |
DC/DC Converter | Curtis 1400E |
Instrumentation | Tri Metric, and 7 Cell log 8 meters from Hobby King for individual cell monitoring and low/high voltage alarms. |
Top Speed | 80 MPH (128 KPH) Ran out of road, was still accelerating |
Acceleration | great compared to the junk I usually drive... |
Range | 60 Miles (96 Kilometers) Math says 82 miles max, , but I have yet to drive that car, and furthermore, I plan to only use 70% of the battery pack capacity in an effort to get 3,000+ cycles out of it. It only has a short commute, so 60 will be plenty. |
Watt Hours/Mile | I have yet to drive it, so I am using 260Whr/mile as my target. My range has been calculated with this number. Note: 70 miles at 70%DOD in normal driving, yay! |
Seating Capacity | 2 adults |
Curb Weight | 2,350 Pounds (1,068 Kilograms) I calculated the weight to be about 150Lbs more than stock, but will weigh it when I get it on the road. |
Tires | 185/60/15 These re the tires that came with the car, and at 40Psi seem to be working O.K. |
Conversion Time | 6 months so far, I have only details left to do. |
Conversion Cost | less than 20K |
Have driven it 4 times now, and it seems to be using about 175wh/mile@55mph. When all the instrumentation is in, I am hoping for 225wh/mile in mixed use. |
