Location | Aloha, Oregon United States map |
Vehicle | 2006 Jetstream Short wheelbase recumbent 20 inch front wheel, 26 inch rear. Sram components. Originally had underseat steering, I converted it to overseat steering. The design and manufacture was my own, one of the features I like about it is that it can be reconverted to USS with only the use of a couple of allen wrenches |
Motor | Nine continent Brushless DC 9x7 windings 20 inch brushless hub motor |
Drivetrain | Ebikekit.com (Nine continent) 20 inch front hub motor BLDC controller with right hand hall effect thumb throttle |
Controller | ebikekit |
Batteries | Bosch Fat Pack, 36.00 Volt, Lithium-Ion 2,3 or 4 Bosch tool batteries. I believe using tool packs for a power source is the most practical power source currently available. Heck, you can drive across town and then use the batteries to power your screwgun or circular saw. Commercial ebike batteries pretty much power your bike and then your done. |
System Voltage | 36 Volts |
Charger | bosch 36 volt charger |
Heater | N/A |
Instrumentation | Watts up meter |
Top Speed | Bike is sit in work |
Seating Capacity | 1 adult |
Tires | 100 psi Primo Comet slicks |
Conversion Cost | Currently $750 more to spend though |
Additional Features | In addition to the conversion from underseat steering to overseat steering, I modified the kickstand to be suitable for the high bottom bracket. I plan on replacing the factory fork with a beefier freestyle fork to handle the torque of the motor. |
Originally purchased it to fix it up and resell it to help pay for the recumbent trike I was building. It sat in the corner of my shop for several weeks calling out "put a motor on me" Finally I gave in. The bike is still in work with fork replacement and mounting of the controller and quick removable battery packs |
