Top Speed | 63 MPH (101 KPH) Traveling up a steep hill, gave it more accelerator to make the hill. Had to slow down as I noticed we were passing cars going up hill. Speedometer still needs to be made functional so I avoid this.
Acceleration | Very drivable.
Range | 40 Miles (64 Kilometers) So far. Still making changes to the vehicle and tweaking problem areas. Could be slightly more as batteries get more cycles on them to break them in.

Conversion Time | 2009-2010: Original conversion to 96v in nine months with the majority of the worked performed over a two month period in April and May. 2010-2011: Off and on this school year. Finished fabrication and converted to 144v. Finally drivable and fairly reliable. 2011-2012: Will pick up where we left off last year and continue to make improvements to the car as time and budgetting allows.
Additional Features | The car was an automatic that we have converted over to a 5 speed with no clutch. A Volvo electric vacuum pump for power brakes.
This is a Technology Education / Automotive Technology education combined class project, WebPage . We completed it for The EV Challenge Competition, WebPage . We are slowly but surely getting the bugs tweaked out of our design. So far we have logged approximately 150 miles in the EV. When fully charged, the vehicle responds quite well and is fun to drive. |
