Owner | T. S. Brook |
---|---|
Location | Fort Mill, South Carolina United States map |
Vehicle | 2008 WAZAT Emerald I got the idea from the El Chopper ET but had to redesign to suit my frame and I did quite a bit of custom fabrication. |
Motor | D&D Motor Systems, Inc. MARS ME 0709 Permanent Magnet DC |
Drivetrain | Direct chain drive, 1:3.7 sprocket ratio (10T motor/37T wheel) |
Controller | Alltrax 7234 |
Batteries | 6 Duralast 24MD-DL, 12.00 Volt, Lead-Acid, Flooded I deliberately designed to accommodate the Lead/Acid batteries - I like the low-tech aspect of the deep-cycle "floodies" - they can be rebuilt, they're widely available, and you don't cry when you have to replace them |
System Voltage | 72 Volts |
Charger | Quick Charge 72v / 20 amp output - easily does full recharge in about 5 hours |
Instrumentation | Speedometer, LCD Voltage Meter, 2 green LED turn signal indicators, red LED "power on" indicator - 10w stereo amp for MP3 player / 2 - 4" boat speakers @ 40w each |
Top Speed | 65 MPH (104 KPH) |
Acceleration | Using the Progressive throttle setting - very consistent 0-30MPH in 6 seconds - awesome power! |
Range | 20 Miles (32 Kilometers) That's with an average speed of 45-50MPH. |
Seating Capacity | 1 adult |
Curb Weight | 625 Pounds (284 Kilograms) yeah, it's big and heavy, but it'll cruise with the big dogs - for a little while anyway |
Tires | Rear:110/18-90 Front: 100/90-19 |
Conversion Time | 400 hours |
Conversion Cost | $3000.00 |
Additional Features | Custom fabricated square tubing handlebars and sissy bar - Each took about 20 hours to build but produced the anti-traditional look that I was after - custom fabricated daytime running headlight w/ 69 white LED's - tail/brake light lens is stock but has 35 LED's instead of stock bulb - turn signals are LED's, too - 180 LEDs in all |
I abandoned traditional curvy streamlined design in favor of the angular geometry of Stealth aircraft - chose stainless steel in place of chrome - Since it was going to be ridden along with other custom bikes and serious V-Twins, I knew it had to be the most unusual bike in the parking lot and that it really had to perform - I call it a WAZAT because the first thing people say is "Wazat?" then they see it move and they say, "I gotta get me one of them!" |
